‘Market Day Flower’ is an oil painting on 5×7 linen panel.
All summer long, my sweetheart and I have gone to the farmer’s market in our home town. Our 2 favorite things are the deep-fried, gluten free cheese curds and the market flowers.
The flowers are locally grown and so cheerful. Each Saturday the flowers change a little — and when these mini sunflowers came along, I fell in love with them.
I surprised myself with this one. Flowers and glass are both difficult to paint for me. Fortunately, the result charmed me completely, so here it is.
